New Yorker Magazine Writes A Very Interesting Article About Lyme Disease

Read this…very good but inaccurate.

There is a reliable diagnostic test for Lyme now by Advanced Lab Services.  It is pricey ($900 for full screening – all species) but worth it!  I just got back positive results

for the first time in over 7 years of negative tests (according to CDC – 4 bands instead of 5 on the western blot…) this is after over a year of IV Rocephin, penicillin injections, Doxy and many other antibiotics over the years.  Many doctors said I had Post Lyme Syndrome and couldn’t possibly have an active infection after all the antibiotics (I had 3 months of Doxy after my initial crash) yet Advanced Lab Services conducts a DNA test on positive blood cultures to assure not false positives.
