Jenna’s 5 Steps to 100% Recovery

Jenna's 5 Steps to 100% Recovery

After a decade of suffering, I am happy to say I am completely recovered from Lyme disease!  All those years of praying for death and living day after day dreading yet another morning of desperate pain and profound fatigue had me questioning my faith and the meaning of life…sound familiar?

Looking back I am so glad that I persevered, and believe it or not, I am actually grateful for all that I went through.  I know it sounds harsh to those who are desperate to recover – it’s hard not to feel defeated by a society who looks the other way (or avoids us) and a medical community that is so divided on treatment protocol.  We are all left to fend for ourselves, and would rather ANYTHING else.

But for those of us who recover, we need to lead the way for others to follow.  No matter where you are on the recovery journey – there IS life after Lyme disease.  And as I have found out, it is SO much better than anything you can imagine!

I started this blog to reach out to my fellow sufferers and share the resources I discovered along the way.  So here is a final recap:

  1. Take control of your own health.  In our society we look for quick fixes – it doesn’t exist for chronic Lyme disease!
  2. Find a good LLMD who understands the disease and follow their plan – don’t doctor hop.
  3. You must treat biofilms too.
  4.  Treat parasites (for the rest of your life) – otherwise you will have multiple  relapses.
  5. Learn how to meditate.

Meditate? Seriously? Yes!

This is a description of  “You Are The Placebo: Making Your Mind Matter” :

“Is it possible to heal by thought alone—without drugs or surgery? The truth is that it happens more often than you might expect. In You Are the Placebo, Dr. Joe Dispenza shares numerous documented cases of those who reversed cancer, heart disease, depression, crippling arthritis, and even the tremors of Parkinson’s disease by believing in a placebo. Similarly, Dr. Joe tells of how others have gotten sick and even died the victims of a hex or voodoo curse—or after being misdiagnosed with a fatal illness. Belief can be so strong that pharmaceutical companies use double- and triple-blind randomized studies to try to exclude the power of the mind over the body when evaluating new drugs.

Dr. Joe does more than simply explore the history and the physiology of the placebo effect. He asks the question: “Is it possible to teach the principles of the placebo, and without relying on any external substance, produce the same internal changes in a person’s health and ultimately in his or her life?” Then he shares scientific evidence (including color brain scans) of amazing healings from his workshops, in which participants learn his model of personal transformation, based on practical applications of the so-called placebo effect. The book ends with a “how-to” meditation for changing beliefs and perceptions that hold us back—the first step in healing.

You Are the Placebo combines the latest research in neuroscience, biology, psychology, hypnosis, behavioral conditioning, and quantum physics to demystify the workings of the placebo effect . . . and show how the seemingly impossible can become possible.”

Do you have the courage to become free of chronic Lyme disease?  Dr. Dispenza’s work is not for you if you enjoy being sick, or if your identity is wrapped up in the “victim” mentality that infects people right along with Borrelia (who ever asked for a tick bite to destroy your life?)

I actually started with Dr. Joe’s most recent book called “Becoming Supernatural”.   I stumbled across it in the most random way, never realizing how profoundly it would change my life.  I recommend downloading his guided meditations and beginning every day with at least his 20 minute Morning meditation.  You will never look back.

Recovery is more than just healing – it requires physical, emotional and spiritual healing as well as courage to rebuild your life.  For me it included rebuilding finances, relationships and a profession – all the things that make up our identity.  I am no longer a sick person (I haven’t been for awhile) – I am healthy, happy  and excited about life every day.  You can be too!

Hey Jenna! Your journey through Lyme disease continues to be an inspiration to me. I’m incredibly thankful for your full recovery. It means so much to all of us in the Lyme community who are working toward the same goal. I return to your blog time after time as a valuable resource throughout my recovery from chronic Lyme disease.

I can relate to so much of what you’ve shared here. And I’m thankful for every small victory I experience along this journey and believe with the hope that one day I’ll be fully recovered too. I agree that no longer viewing yourself as a sick person and working to rebuild it is essential.

All my best to you! X, Lori
