Herbal Tea Recipes to Fight Lyme Disease

I came across this interesting presentation that dates back to September of 2006 written by Wendy Snow Fogg from Misty Meadows Herbal Center: http://www.mistymeadows.org/wendydocs/Lyme%20Disease.pdf. The document has interesting case studies with positive results.

There are recipes with excellent instructions for Lyme Prevention, Chronic Lyme Treatment and various versions (with raw honey or without) and detailed description of the herbs used in the teas.

There are many versions of Wendy’s teas and different types of tea suggested for helping with symptoms such as chamomile tea, white tea, green tea and various mint teas. Following is an anti-microbial/immune regulating medicinal herbal tea formula based on Stephen Buhner’s Healing Lyme protocol.

Put into one gallon water:
1) Japanese Knotweed 10g
(increase dose slowly, 10g per week or so, up to 40g)
2) Stephania 20g (increase slowly up to 80g)
3) Sarsaparilla 10g (increase slowly to 40g)
4) Cat’s Claw 15g (increase slowly to 60g)
5) Red Root 10g (can increase slowly to 30g)

-Artemesia Annua 5g (increase slowly to 40g) use especially if suspicion of Babesia)
-Eleutherococcus Genseng at a starting dose of 10g can be helpful for fatigue,(but it may be troublesome for some with chronic lyme).

    Wendy Fogg also sells a tea based on Buhner’s protocol. I loved it and I felt it helped my smptoms. Several others were drinking the tea at the same time as me. I had to eventually stop as my gut started to have issues and I couldn’t handle much of anything. You can get it at her site MistyMeadows.org

    I’ve used those same herbs, in those amounts only my practitioner had me make the tea differently – but it healed a 40 year Lyme infection. I’ve been off of the treatment for 1 yr and 11 months now and through a ton of stress, and have yet to have any symptoms return! It took a lot of support for my body to heal, and there is some permanent damage that was done, but I’m better now than I’ve ever been!

      Can you tell me exactly what you used and how you made the tea as I would really like to try to make it for my daughter. We’ve not had too much success with antibiotic treatment (on many for about 14 months) and we’re looking for alternative treatments for her chronic lyme. Thanks!

        The ingredients are all listed in the blog post – each herb is used separately or can be used together in even proportions. There are so many alternative protocols – try reading “Healing Lyme” by Stephen Buhner, Dr. Horowitz promotes the Cowden protocol which you can find lots of information on http://lymediseaseresource.com then search for Cowden. Also, the Himalayan salt and Apple Poly is a very simple and powerful killing protocol.
